    Dorothy Zerio

    DOROTHY ZERIO is director and owner of Dance Inc. She received her ballet training at the Memphis Ballet School in TN where the emphasis of teaching was on the Royal Academy of Dance Syllabus. While obtaining her Bachelors Degree in Professional Studies at Memphis State, she danced professionally with the Memphis Ballet. Her scholarships took her to Banff School of Fine Arts in Canada and to the Hartford Ballet School. Studies and performing eventually turned into an interest in teaching. She attended the RAD in London, England and the Harford Ballet teaching program with focus on the Vaganova Syllabus. While owning Dance Inc for twenty years, she has established herself in NYC among great teachers such as Finis Jhung and invested in a pre-school dance program entitled"Leap n Learn." Presently she is preparing to enroll in the American Ballet Theatre teacher licensing program. She believes that classical ballet provides the best foundation. Although her school offers many forms ofdance, ballet is the basis of strength and alignment.

    Born Duane Whitley,from Baton Rouge, Lousiana but call him DWhit, started his professional career in NYC in 1998 as a choreographer and toured with platinum artists, Britney Spears, TLC, Usher, Destiny’s Child, 702, Joe and many more. He started his entertainment company WhitPick En- tertainment in 2005. Now he is concentrating his efforts as the writer, director, choreographer and producer of a new hip hop musical stage play entitlled “Ghetto Chronicles”. He is one of our featured staff members in the fall of 2008- 2009.
  • Ellen Chyun

    Ellen Chyun

    Ellen Chyun, a former student of Dance Inc., graduated from the Univer- sity of the Arts with a BFA in modern dance with an emphasis in choreog- raphy. She has performed works by Curt Haworth, Brian Sanders, Meriam Herve-Gil, Milton Meyers, and also Lynn Barr whom she studied with in Prague, Czech Republic. Ellen currently lives in New York City, and in- terns with the development program at Dance New Amsterdam. She is a collaborative artist with the performance collective “Seen Performance”.

    Rose Zerio

    Rose Zerio, is a former student and guest teacher of Dance. Inc. She is an alumnus of NYC Weist-Barron “ACTeen” program ; student at NYC Guitar School; vocal student of Adrienne Angel (Cher, Ber- nadette Peters, Joan Jet); studies dance at Joffrey Ballet,Steps on Broadway, and Broadway Dance Center. She has performed in music videos ( Avril Lavigne, and other Indie artists); MTV ; extra and stand- in for TV show “Love Monkey”; filmed a NYC commercial “Cell Charger to Go; extra in movies, including “Spinning Into Butter (Sarah Jessica Parker), Super X Girlfriend (Uma Thurman ); performed in an off -Broadway production (Shirley at the Tropicana): and modeled for fashion, hair and bridal shows. Presently, she is working as a vocal art- ist under an Indie Record Label on her new Debut CD.

    Blaine Horton

    Blaine Horton is a former dance student at Dance Inc., and graduate dance major from Milwaukee High School of the Arts. He was an inter- national ballroom competitor for two years and continues his dance train- ing at Broadway Dance Center, and Steps on Broadway in NYC. His credentials include: (Theatre)Radio City Music Hall Christmas Spec- tacular; (Film)”Before the Devil Knows You’re Justin”; (TV) Law and Order (NBC), 30 Rock (NBC), One Life o Live(ABC), All My Children (ABC), As the World Turns(CBS), Satuday Night Live (NBC-skit player), Late Nite with Conan (NBC) ; also commercial and voice overs with MTV and Nickelodeon.
  • Ronald Burton

    Ronald Burton

    Ronald Burton, a graduate from UCLA in the World Arts and Culture program, is currently a visiting instructor in dance at Wesleyan Univer- sity in CT. He currently participates in Arts and Education programs in the New York City Public School System. He was a scholarship student for three years at Alvin Ailey American Dance Center where he studied Ballet, Jazz, Horton, Graham and Dunham modern dance. In further- ing his dance career and multi-cultural interests he worked with Afro- Brazilian, Haitian, Caribbean, Latin and African Dance Companies while fulfilling a scholarship at Clark Center for the Performing Arts. He has performed at Jacobs Pillow, Avery Fischer Hall, Brooklyn Academy of Music, Lincoln Center Out-of-Doors etc... He furthered his folkloric studies by performing, touring and teaching with several Afro-Brazilian companies in both LA and at the Escolade Danca in Salvador Bahia, Brazil. He will periodically teach a master class at Dance Inc. in Jazz, Swing and Afro-Brazilian.
